OEBERGS assists in large-scale wind farm investment in Sweden
CGN Europe Energy (CGNEE) has partnered with Hermes Infrastructure[1] to acquire an 813MW portfolio of five Swedish onshore wind farms from Aquila Capital (a part of Aquila Holding GmbH).
The portfolio includes two wind farms in operation, with an aggregate capacity of 216MW, as well as three wind projects currently in a late-stage construction stage with a combined capacity of 597MW. CGNEE has acquired 80% of the total portfolio, and Aquila Capital will maintain an ongoing role in the wind farms’ operation.
The portfolio also comprises a comprehensive contractual package which includes long-term, fixed-price, power-purchase agreements which limit exposure to merchant power prices, as well as agreements with world-class suppliers for operations and maintenance services.
In the transaction, Advokatfirman OEBERGS - in partnership with Herbert Smith Freehills LLP - represented CGNEE through Senior Partner Björn Öberg and associates Liselotte Rios, Nils Karlsson Green and Elisabet Heimer.
