Advokatfirman Oebergs in Trafikanalys’ report on climate declarations

In order to assist travellers in selecting the most environmentally friendly transportation methods, the Swedish governmental agency Trafikanalys has launched a report which examines how it can be made obligatory to declare journeys’ climate impact in ads and sales. In the report, Advokatfirman Oebergs was assigned to assess the legal conditions for the proposed instruments.

On behalf of the Swedish Government, Transportanalys has launched the report “Hur kan e-handelns transporter bli mer hållbara? Redovisning av ett regeringsuppdrag” (2020:2), which investigates what climate declarations might look like, and how climate declarations could be designed in order to enable consumers to compare climate impact within and between different modes of transport.

Advokatfirman Oebergs, as the foremost legal specialist in Swedish infrastructure, has been assigned to assess the legal conditions for two of the proposed instruments in the report - including whether more sustainable shipment methods could be presented as first-hand-choice, and whether e-commerce companies should be required to declare the shipment’s impact on the climate.
