Oebergs represents Oxelö Energi in a unique district heating interconnection deal with Vattenfall
Advokatfirman Oebergs has represented Oxelö Energi in a unique transaction with Vattenfall connecting the district heating network of Oxelösund with the Vattenfall CHP in Nyköping. According to the agreement, the district heating network in Oxelösund will be connected to Vattenfall's CHP plant Idbäcksverket in Nyköping. The new district heating interconnection involves an optimization where Vattenfall´s excess capacity can be used in the Oxelösund system. Further, excess heat from SSAB:s industrial facilities in Oxelösund are scheduled to disappear 2025 as the steel production at SSAB will become electrified.
The colloboration makes it possible for Vattenfall to utilize excess capacity at Idbäcksverket and enables for Oxelö Energi to get heat supplies from a biofuel-based district heating production at a significantly lower investment cost compared to building its own plant in Oxelösund.
Advokat Björn Öberg: “We are very excited about having participated in this landmark transaction, not only because it is such an obvious win-win for both of the parties to the transaction but also because this deal has been discussed for 25 years and I have known some of the participants in this transaction since the idea was conceived. In Infrastructure, you got to have patience”
The lead counsel in the transaction was Björn Öberg, assisted by associate Liza Berisha.
